Our Wedding Supplies Done and Delivered

Okey, so we're almost done with all the payments. And so the long wait is over...time to check one by one the delivery of wedding supplies and pack all up to bring to Bicol.

1. The Wedding Invitations - we picked them up at the office of Written in Ink (WINK) at the Wedding Lounge along Sheridan, Pioneer.

Hubby is busy pasting the addressees :-)

All we did was to add some adornment like baby blue ribbon to make a contrasting effect to the invite layout and cut-outs for the addressees.

2. The Misalettes - we did our own misallette from encoding, printing and packaging. Thanks to my talented brother Ace Armario for the simple but elegant layout of our missal cover.

3. The Gown, Dresses and Men Suits - personally delivered to us by Ms. Ven of Zentaochi Bridal Shop. All gown pegs were personally designed and chosen by me :-)

4. The Wedding Bands - we picked them up at the Marry Me Jewelry Shop at Market Market, Taguig.

The design of the ring is the combination of our own personal choices..I preferred a white gold ring while hubby preferred the yellow gold one. So to make things fair we decided to make it a two-toned ring but the white gold still won the bigger width :-)

Wedding Bands Description: One pair of 14K Yellow-White Gold Flat with one side groove style bands. 4mm & 5mm width, 1.3-1.4mm thick, in polish and brush matte finish, set with five Diamonds on bride's ring.

Finger size 4.5 and 9.5
Shape/Cut: Round Brilliant Cut
Clarity/Color: SI/ G
Diamond Carat: 0.07 ct total wt.
Weight of Gold: 8.94grams

The bands come with a Certificate of Authenticity and a Warranty Card and a lifetime free cleaning.

5. The Unity Coins (which serves as our Arrhaes) - due to Carlo's consistent insistence, we, or rather, he opted to buy these 2 toned silver and yellow gold unity coins with carved wedding symbols in it at The Wedding Library. We're putting it in the same treasure box we bought at our jeweler, Marry Me Jewelry.

6. Rosary Wedding Cord - I personally crafted this rosary cord inspired from the blogs I read in etsy.com. The materials are semi-precious beads and other tools I bought from Wellmanson in Villalobos St, Quiapo then I assembled it to be a big rosary to bind me and groom-to-be during the marriage rite.

7. The gifts for the Male Principal Sponsors - we met with Ms. Maribeth Baylon of the Chocolate Confections near the gas station along SLEX road to pick-up our favors for our dear Ninongs.

8. The gifts for the Female Principal Sponsors - I personally packed and wrapped the  favors for our ninangs. The limited edition shawls/scarves I ordered on an online store were delivered as early as July 2012 and I packed them with china blue scented lotion I bought from Marks and Spencer. And I ordered customized gift boxes at Papemelroti in SM Megamall A.

9. Bridal Shoes - With the help of my friend Cathy, we research on vintage pegs of royal blue bridal shoes as I always preferred to wear a non-traditional shoes for my wedding. I bought a plain royal blue shoes at the Romp, Crossings on 50% sale then I scavenge old accessories I used for my beadworks hobby and bought few ribbons for our DIY project.

10. Fascinators for the Female Entourage - Again with the help of my friend, Cathy Isip, we looked for vintage designs of headdress online, bought raw accessories and fabrics and assemble the materials to make customized headdresses/fascinators for our female entourage.

A Surprised Bridal Shower

Very well then..I would have to narrate the whole day situation before I got knocked off by just a feather!

It was a sunny Wednesday when I wake up late due to a few days of work-related stress and wedding matters at home to attend to. I was really lazy, had long hours of coffee in front of the television watching my favorite morning time show and it was 7 past in the morning when I finally decided to hit the shower and off prepare myself to go to work (whether I like it or YES!)

I was really undecided what to wear (though I'm sure I don't wanna wear the  trite old-maiden looking light green uniform and the typical dark gray slacks) so I opted to wear a decent green blouse from Plains and Prints and a charcoal  heavy textured pants instead.

Took me about an hour to reach work with the slow-moving traffic from V.Mapa all the way to Arlegui road, the annoying dust around and the loud sound of the jeepney I rode on my way to General Solano St. And when I was on my way, mom texted me that she will have to be sent to the hospital due to unexpected bleeding. That was a too early stress-triggering news so my heart was beating faster as I walk through the facade of our building in an unusual walking speed.

And so I reach our building at about a quarter to 9am, sit at my usual desk (welcomed by a garbage-ful of pending agency budget requests). First thing I did was to call my mother, then my father (who was about to bring mom to the hospital) and my brother to spread the not-so-good news.

Suddenly, I had a glimpse on my mirror, and I realized a sullen face was looking right in front of me! A few retouch and grooming to make myself at least a little presentable will do now :-) Again, without realizing around my comrades at work, I go on with the overwhelming number of papers on my desk. My goal is to finish all the pending works by the end of the month (hopefully!).

Come 11:00am, my three comrades at work started inviting me for lunch at our ever-favorite fastfood McDonalds for our all-time favorite meal the Chicken Fillet with Rice, Upgraded Mcfloat and French fries. Ok..so we talk about the usual petty issues at work, my wedding concerns and as we're done with our meals, my two friends, Czarina and Lei, opted to drop-by National Bookstore to buy a book (as Czarina supposedly said) while me and Marshall decided to go back to office to have a short nap.

As soon as I get back at my desk, I decided to call groom-to-be for we actually have prior plans just the night before to go to SM Manila City to have our nails done and a facial. Since the road to the mall was temporarily closed due to road construction, I opted to suggest cancelling our prior plans and meet halfway to Shaw Blvd instead to go to other salons instead.

I failed in my attempt due to the consistent insistence of groom-to-be to fetch me up at work and pursue with our original plan. And because I was too tired to argue, I let him win the decision this time. And so I went on to my working not realizing the time gone so fast. No one from my colleagues invited anyone for an afternoon snack (but I was not really feeling hungry so it's just ok).

Come 4pm, I was still printing draft Memos and correspondences..not noticing my surroundings with boys playing their usual DOTA, the senior ones started packing up their things for their 4pm shuttle service, and the young ladies starting to redo their makeups. Groom-to-be started texting me that he's on his way on a cab (on a cab???!!). What the heck is he doing riding a cab at a rush hour like this?! And immediately, I got so furious!

Ate Cathy, my usual going-home buddy already asked me the usual question "what time are we going home" and I innocently answered, "not going with you today sis, because Carlo will fetch me up so I will have to wait for him here". And one by one, the young ladies are going home leaving me alone waiting for Carlo.

My soon-to-be Ninang Cherry, on the other hand, asked me also what time will I go home (on the thought that she wanted to go with me). Later, she decided to go with another senior comrade Ate Nona and off they went in a matter of minutes.

Good idea....where have all the people gone at this early an hour on a Wednesday leaving me alone waiting here for Carlo whose on a cab for about more than an hour already?! Oh I almost didn't notice...the boys are still complete playing their all-time favorite game. Okay! I am now getting impatient! It's 6 o'clock in the evening; it's almost dark outside but I'm still working on a paper while the ticking of the clock is starting to annoy me!

When Carlo arrived at our building (took him more than a few minutes to reach BMB C door), I immediately packed my things while obviously annoyed, and off we go. The boys were still left playing, by the way.

As we go out the building, I insisted that we don't go to SM Manila anymore to avoid inconvenience in going to/from..and without arguments, Carlo agreed on and suggested we eat dinner at a fastfood in Mendiola since both of us are really hungry already.

So we barked out a trike and rode it of course..I told Manong Driver to take us to DSWD, Legarda but Carlo interrupted by telling him to take us to Jollibee Bustillos instead. What?!?! And that started our furious argument and fight. The triggering traffic made Manong Driver confused with his passengers who are babbling "DSWD" and "Jollibee Bustillos" non-stop..alternately. i am really getting furious..what the hell are we going to do in Jollibee Bustillos?? I don't want to eat another crap chicken or burger or spaghetti or fries!

But Carlo insisted on Jollibee Bustillos and I almost got the idea that he hired Manong Driver bigtime because he was following Carlo's demands all along! When we finally got to Jollibee Bustillos, I immediately got off still furious and opted to go straight to the pedestrian lane to ride another jeepney heading straight for home but was blocked by the site of Ninang Cherry and Ate Nona waiting at Jollibee Bustillos' corridor...What the heck is going on??!!!!

And when I turned back, I saw Carlo grinning..OMG! Something's happening all along without my knowing!!??? So I tapped his chest big time! not smiling nor furious nor crying either..I still don't really know what's going on.

Ninang Cherry finally said they waited for me at Bustillos to treat me and Carlo for dinner but Carlo insisted he will have to go back to SM Manila to buy something important. What?!? Now I am getting more confused..what's going on really?? No one's answering me..took me several more minutes before I realized we're on a trike again going to..where now??

The thoughts are still not sinking in until we reached Savory Restaurant in Earnshaw, Sampaloc. Oh no! I know this place but why are we eating here of all places??? And I don't want chicken anymore (whispering to myself mode)  but where had Carlo been and what important thing is he going to buy without my consent???

Did I accounted the story long enough? To make it short, when we got to the 2nd floor (myself not yet composed to what I will get into) Ninang Cherry opened the VIP Room 1 and this was the moment waiting for me..

I never had surprises in my life but this was the very first! So I never knew how it felt until last night. I cried due to the fact that I almost hurt the one I love for no reason at all when all of the non-sense quarreling and arguing were all a set up all along. It was an overwhelming night and I thank all these great friends who organized this simple shower party just for me.

Now I'm ready to enter into a new chapter of my life, no more doubts and hesitations, I am ready to say "I do".
