The Hands-On Bride - Quarter 1

12 months before the wedding

1. Pick the date,  the style and scale of the event and work on the budget.

Date:
9th December 2012 (Sunday)..Originally, it was supposed to be on the 8th of December.  Due to unfortuitous event, unfortunately, the date was moved a day after. I did a separate post on what had happened on the next blog. Anyway, moving on...

Style:
Soon-to-be-hubby is a music enthusiast, and I'm a fan of the vintage ala Casablanca idea so we come up with a Vintage Music Themed Wedding..and we're both so excited! haha!

Here is our inspiration:
we took this photo display at the Themes and Motifs wedding fair

Scale and Budget:
We always wanted an intimate wedding so we strictly limit our guests into 150  and a budget of P200,000 at most..Hopefully!

2. Made reservations for the ceremony and reception venue.

3. Look for prospective suppliers for the other wedding matters.

4. Booked our photographer

We don't wanna compromise the photos of our wedding since these will be the most important souvenir left after the event.

5. Attended the Wedding Fair held at Megamall last February 18, 2012 sponsored by the Wedding Library and booked Marry Me Jewelry for our wedding bands.

We were given almost 30% discount and the rings have GIA certificates.

The busy brides-to-be going there and everywhere..looking for possible suppliers and discussing terms and every aspects of their services.

We found this style so suitable for our wedding theme so we secretly took a pic of it thru my phone: >

Hubby wrote this at WOW's bulletin..his handwriting isn't very nice, but I found the write ups so cute!

Various pamphlets we collected during the fair..at least I will have ideas in the future if I ever enter into the wedding planning business (but not really encouraged to do so yet)..:=)

6. Started drafting our guests list and the members of our entourage in February every after work.

7. Booked our honeymoon trip via Cebu Pacific Piso-Sale for the 11th December 2012 trip to Kuala Lumpur that cost the two of us only P1,900, other fees and taxes included..Thank God!

8. We are keeping our engagement a little bit of a secret...just so to keep the event an intimate one. So we only told few family members and closest friends about the wedding plans and the big event so far: )

9. Attended the Themes and Motifs sponsored fair entitled the 20th Wedding Expo. Since we pre-registered for the event, we got a free entrance, a loot bag with free wedding songs collection cd and wedding catalogues of the best suppliers in the country.

We had so much fun with the free photo booth souvenir shops for soon-to-wed attendees during the whole duration of the expo..here are our pictures:

We got hungry in the middle of stall hopping at the expo..

 It's always the bride during the 1st fair..now it's the groom's turn..hehe!
Our trial photo booth souvenirs, but we didn't book one haha!..they're so cute pics!

10. Booked the Written in Ink (WINK) for our invitation supplier. They gave us  fair discount of 20% with free sealers and free draft revisions.

Initially, we planned to do and print our own invis..however, we realized that the cost will just be the same, from buying the raw materials, time to consume in designing the layout and the cost of the printing, packing and delivery. Plus, we also considered contingencies such us errors in printing that will cause overruns and waste of papers and ink. So we just opted to book a professional but affordable supplier, that way, all we have to think is paying for the final products and distribute them to our guests.

11. The next few days of March were spent on drafting the contents of the misalette, researching for the scripture readings for December 9 and the composition of the wedding vows (for approval with the parish priest and family ministry of our church).

12. I started creating our wedding workbooks, websites and blogs to keep me updated of all the activities that we do for our wedding and be able to share to other people as well.

Alas! Our quarter one completed with so much fun..thank you Lord for all the guidance: )
